About me
Gian Paolo Reo
Hearing aid specialist and sound engineer
For more than ten years I have been helping people hear better. I have worked in Italy, Germany and Switzerland, and today I run the hearing care department at Fielmann in Lugano. When I am not working on hearing, I work on sound: I record, mix and produce music.

My story
I studied at the University of Naples Federico II, where I graduated as a hearing aid specialist (Tecnico audioprotesista), and started working with hearing aids at Otofon.
In 2013 I packed my bags and moved to Germany. I learned German from scratch, went back to work as a hearing aid specialist and in 2016 earned the title of Hörakustik-Meister, the German master’s qualification in hearing aid acoustics. Since then I have managed several hearing care centres, first in Germany and then in Switzerland, leading teams and training new colleagues.
Over all these years I have learned one thing: a good hearing aid alone is not enough. It takes time, listening and patient fine-tuning, together with the person. That is what I want to share on this website too, with the blog articles and the free apps I created: the Hearing Diary and TinniAPP.

Hearing and sound: the same passion
Sound is part of my life outside work too. In my PathosG Studio I record, mix and produce music, as a sound engineer and music producer.
Knowing sound from both sides, from those who create it and from those who struggle to hear it, helps me every day: to explain things simply, to fine-tune hearing aids more precisely and to create custom sounds for people with tinnitus.
I speak Italian (native), German and English.
